A Useful Thing To Know

By now relief goods are pouring in Visayas in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan, with a significant portion of those relief items coming in being canned goods. But what if those cans don't have easy-open lids and the people don't have can openers available?

Well, some helpful Filipinos have verified that the Crazy Russian Hacker method works:

They've even made a neat graphic (with Filipino and Waray translations to boot) that can be printed and disseminated:

Call me a homer for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, but this is one dude who uses his fame for good. And this country needs a lot of good after Typhoon Yolanda.

We're in Season 1 of the Ateneo Women's volleyball team's post-"Fab Five"/Roger Gorayeb era. This year's Lady Spikers are a young and rebuilding team with a new head coach and no graduating players. UAAP Season 76: Blue Babble Battalion 2013 Cheerdance Competition Teaser Video

The 2013 UAAP Cheerdance Competition, easily one of the most-anticipated events on the UAAP Season 76 calendar, is slated a week from now. Here's a teaser video featuring the Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion, set to "We Own It (Fast & Furious)" by 2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa.

The BBB is not among the traditional powerhouses in the UAAP CDC, but here's hoping they'll surpass, or at least equal, their best-ever finish—2nd place in 2009—in this competition.

UAAP Season 76: Following The Games Online

It's not the ideal way to catch the games, but you can follow GMA News Online's live-scoring if you can't watch the UAAP Men's basketball tournament live at the game venues or on television, or if the available online livestream is slow). Sometimes the person/s updating the scores get caught up in the game too. Check out these score updates from the ADMU–UST game earlier today. The elation at big plays leaps off the (web) page.
