UAAP Season 75: Closing The Books

Before the Season 75 Men's basketball tournament started I blogged about some questions that could determine how successful the Ateneo Blue Eagles' "Drive for Five" would be:
  • How will Ateneo cope with the departure of Emman Monfort and Kirk Long, starters from last year's champion team who have used up their eligible playing years?
  • Can Norman Black again lead the squad to the title this year, his last as the Blue Eagles' head coach?
  • How will Ryan Buenafe, the Season 73 Finals MVP, fare in his return to action after missing the entirety of Season 74?
I am so relieved that the answers to those questions—Monfort's successor Juami Tiongson rose to the challenge and ably supported Ateneo's Big Three of Kiefer Ravena, Greg Slaughter, and Nico Salva; yes, although there was tense stretch where Coach Black offered to resign as head coach out of delicadeza following top Blue Eagles patron Manny Pangilinan's "disengagement" from Ateneo; Buenafe picked up right where he left off in Season 73, getting up for the big games—were all satisfactory to the Ateneo community.
