Barangka, Recalled

Remember 2010's Coca-Cola Happiness Machine? Well they've upgraded to Happiness Trucks, and dispatched one to Marikina City.

Damn you, Coke. Now I'm all nostalgic about one of my old playgrounds.

Help Two Good Gals Out

At 3:30 p.m. today the drama/romantic comedy series Precious Hearts Romances Presents Mana Po will debut on ABS-CBN. It will be topbilled by Melisa Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, who first burst onto the local entertainment scene as contestants on the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up.

More importantly, Mana Po marks the TV directorial debut of Katski Flores, whose body of work includes the hit telenovela Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (yes, the one where Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz first teamed up) where she was the head writer; the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival finalist Still Life (2007) which she wrote, directed, and produced; and countless other hit ABS-CBN and Star Cinema shows and movies.

Love Your Frenemies, Mina V. Esguerra's fourth book, is already out on Amazon and Smashwords. Here's a brief overview:
Kimmy Domingo was the kind of girl everyone hated and envied -- until her fiancé dumped her a week before their wedding. Soon after, she quit her job, hopped on a plane, and just hid from everyone who knew her. A year later and she's back in Manila to be maid of honor at a wedding she can't miss.

Kimmy's home because she's ready to start over, but she also knows that some people at that wedding were responsible for the mess her life turned out to be. The first step to recovery? Cutting off the ones who caused her troubles to begin with: her best friend and her first love.
Now is that something you might be interested in?

Congratulations, K and Y!

Three Leaflets

On the street the other day some lady handed me fliers that were stapled together.

See, you don't always need perfect grammar to get your point across. The copy above may be an English teacher's nightmare, but we can still understand what is meant. Or maybe I'm just smart, heh.

I'm curious, though, whether the refrigerator unit promised is indeed a Frigidaire.

I wonder what a "Hair Cut (Creative)" is. Is it a mohawk? A mullet, perhaps? Does it involve beads or hair carving?

Also: reading "facial experts" made me snort. I will say no more, lest the family-friendly character of this blog be jeopardized.

Uh…
