There'll Soon Be An Ateneo-La Salle Musical*

Quit rolling your eyes, there are worse things to make musicals about.**
Musical on Ateneo-La Salle rivalry coming in 2012

MANILA, Philippines - The decades-old Ateneo-La Salle feud has reached theater with "Rivalry: The Musical," which is set to be staged in January next year.

The musical depicts how the famed competition has extended to different realms -- from business and professions to love and courtship.

Set in 1968, it revolves around 2 families -- the blue-blooded Valencias and the green-blooded Basilios. The sons in the families -- Paco and Tommy -- are in the Ateneo and De La Salle senior basketball teams, respectively, and are both hoping to win the heart of a girl from Maryknoll (now called Miriam College).

**Off the top of my head there's the Ateneo-UP "Battle of Katipunan," the UP-UST cheerdance rivalry, the plants-zombies war—wait, scratch that, a Plants vs. Zombies musical would be eight kinds of awesome.

  2. There are a couple of pictures here that'll give you an idea how the production might look like.
