Baguio Parades 6 Km Longanisa Again
By: Artemio Dumlao

BAGUIO CITY  – Second time in a row, Baguio paraded its “Longest longanisa” feat on Saturday.

Measuring over 6 kilometers (6.2 kms to be exact) of the famous Iluko native sausage, 1,320 students and policemen swayed the longanisa into a dance filling the festive air with the native garlic flavor specially akin to longanisa blends in this part of the country.

It is yet another highlight of Baguio’s celebration of its centennial, beamed Baguio rep. Mauricio Domogan at the opening on top of Session Road.

I saw the longganisa up close because the closure of major streets for the event forced me to walk to the city proper. Its makers seemed to have gone for quantity over quality but still, the longganisa chain looked (and smelled) impressive.

Photos of the event are here, here, here, here, here, and here.
