UAAP Season 72 Jerseyvaluation: UP Fighting Maroons

For two straight years now the Fighting Maroons have been creative and debuted three sets of jerseys instead of the traditional two.

They began their season wearing a white jersey with maroon, green, and gold trim. It looks sleek except that with the typeface used, it seems like there's another letter between "U" and "P."

Two games later UP resurrected the "Fighting Blacks" jersey that debuted in 2008.

The black uniforms instantly became memorable when the Maroons wore them in their giant upset of league leader Ateneo.

Don't they look fierce? Nobody cares that they were "inspired" by the 2008-09 UConn Huskies uniform.

...

With five of its players scoring in double figures yesterday, UP opened its second round campaign by coming from behind to beat NU, 78-76.

The Fighting Maroons routed their opponents, 33-16, in the third quarter to erase an eight-point halftime deficit. They also out-rebounded and -assisted the Bulldogs the entire game by 11 and 10, respectively.

One more victory and the Maroons will match their three-win total last year. Here's hoping they do it.
