Ateneo nips UE in OT; Maroons winI'm pleasantly surprised with UP's showing this season. Last year they lost all their games. This time the Maroons have won three with three more left to play. Whatever happens from hereon out, it's been a great season for them.

MANILA, Philippines—Ateneo de Manila University survived its toughest test yet with a 61-57 overtime escape against the University of the East Thursday to move within two wins of clinching the first semifinal bonus in the UAAP men’s basketball competition at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Many stepped up to the challenge starting with Ateneo skipper Chris Tiu, who buried a triple with 13.1 seconds left in the fourth period to send the game into overtime at 50-all.
Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Ryan Buenafe and Nonoy Baclao then scored the last six points of the extension for the Eagles, who remained on top with a 10-1 record.
Earlier, University of the Philippines coasted to a 73-42 victory over an Adamson University side that benched its top three stars.
Too bad my two teams' next games will be against each other. This year's second Battle of Katipunan will be this Sunday. Whoever wins, I lose.
