Coolness!

In one newspaper yesterday I read that there's a place in Pampanga where they manufacture swords for use in Hollywood movies. It was said that some of their more recognizable creations were William Wallace's sword in Braveheart, The Bride's samurai in Kill Bill, and Gandalf's Glamdring and Aragorn's Anduril in The Lord of the Rings.

The coolest thing is that fans can order replicas of the said weapons, because they sure would make nice Christmas gifts (hint, hint). I just wonder if the sword that Tony Perez, our college thesis adviser, carried around in cabs and through Luneta Park was made by the same outfit.

The Bar

This year's Bar Examinations started yesterday. I wasn't there in the morning to send my former blockmates off but I was present in the afternoon to meet them as they exited La Salle . If I hadn't quit, perhaps I would have been one of the examinees. But as I exchanged high fives with my former blockmates, I realized I still don't regret leaving law school. Perhaps when they're already lawyers the envy will kick in, ha ha.

Photo Finish

Ateneo and FEU won their games yesterday to share the lead in the UAAP men's basketball tournament. The two are now headed for a titanic encounter this Saturday to settle who will get a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

Dead In Dreams

A friend texted Wednesday morning to tell me she dreamt I had died. Her sister had to wake her up because she was crying and shouting in her sleep. I reassured her I was o.k. This is starting to weird me out. A few months back another friend dreamt that I was being brought into a hospital on a gurney. Let's just hope I'm resurrected in someone's next dream about me.

Scary Stats

Ateneo lost to UP yesterday. With six straight wins, the Maroons' Final Four hopes are still alive. The loss dropped the slumping Blue Eagles to a tie for first place, but they are now 2-3 in the second round of the eliminations after going 7-0 in the first. This is a cause for concern going into the Final Four round.
